I shared about Melanie’s wedding dress, but I think Lacey’s is just as stunning. Like Lacey, I designed both my dress and my bridesmaids, so it was fun having Lacey do the same.
Dresses, Dresses, and More Dresses!
Have you ever seen the movie, Twenty-Seven Dresses? The myriad of bridesmaid styles blows my mind. But it’s all fun, and who doesn’t love wedding fashion?

My youngest daughter could be the star of that movie. She’s been to too many weddings to count. Beginning with a flower girl, a junior bridesmaid, and numerous times in college and out. She’s an in-demand bridesmaid.
But unlike Catherine Heigle’s variety of dresses in the movie, my daughter’s dresses are very similar. The popular muted shades of blush, champagne, taupe, and pink, coupled with similar chiffon and satin fabrics, create a beautiful collage in her closet. I couldn’t collect all the pictures for this blog post, so here’s my daughter Julie’s wedding. She chose the colors and let the girls choose their dresses. My other two daughters flank the bride. I just love all the bridesmaid’s styles!

Lacey’s Gown
In my book, Shadowed Doubt, I envisioned Lacey Thompson’s dress much like the photo below.
I love everything about it! The sweetheart neckline is perfect for a young woman. And I’ve never seen anything like the criss-cross gathers on the bodice. So sweetly stunning. I think the flowing skirt and twisted belt complete the design. And it’s pink! It pretty much caught the attention of Wade Gardner, too.

He’s the love interest that she struggles to surrender to God.

Pink is my favorite color, and chiffon is one of my favorite fabrics, so it made sense I’d incorporate them into Lacey’s dress for her mother’s wedding. But I went overboard with pink in the book and had to go back and do a word search to change the color in Virginia’s nail polish, Summer’s lip color, and Jacquie’s daughter’s prom dress. Not to mention that Max owns The Pink Rosette. By the way, he’s a key character in Book Four, releasing in 2024. Ransomed Peace is the title. Watch for the cover release!

Today is the last day for a chance to win a $10 Amazon gift card and a signed paperback of Shadowed Doubt.
My wedding colors were varied shades of pink. I had 2 roses (red) in my bouquet. I gave one rose to my mom when I walked up and the 2nd to my mil when we were walking down the aisle as Mr. & Mrs.
I love pink. And what a sweet idea with the roses coming out of your bouquet!
Its sounds and looks like a great read! Thank you for the chance.
Thank you, Alicia. Some of my beta readers say it’s their favorite in the series!
